Hear from Ken Lisaius, Senior Advisor & Director of Public Affairs for the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) and Ross C. DeVol, Chief Research Officer of the Milken Institute on how public perceptions of biotechnology shape the way we should talk about our industry and about the steps that policymakers must take to retain the US lead in biomedical innovation.
 
Ken Lisaius has worked for a diverse set of clients, both domestic and foreign, providing senior counsel and strategic communications advice. Over his career, he has advised Fortune 500 companies, industry trade associations, Members of Congress and the President of the United States. 
 
Ross DeVol is chief research officer at the Milken Institute, leading the Institute's work in job
creation, health and capital access. He is also an appointee to the California State Controller's
Council of Economic Advisors. Since joining the Institute, DeVol has put his group in the
national limelight with groundbreaking research on technology and its impact on regional and national economies. He is an expert on the new intangible economy and how regions can prepare themselves to compete in it.
