Lisa Johnson was appointed CEO of BioForward in May, 2015. Lisa began her bioscience career in 1989 joining three other business founders in launching Novagen, a successful life science reagents company focused on protein expression & purification. For nine years, Lisa worked as Finance and Business Development Manager responsible for administration, sales and business development functions. She led teams in managing licensing and OEM agreements, distributor relations and the integration process during the 1998 buy-out with CN Biosciences & Merck KGaA. With Merck KGaA, Lisa held a variety of positions as General Manager for EMD Biosciences, managing teams to achieve global sales of $80m. She was promoted to Vice President of Operations for EMD Biosciences and later to Vice President of Corporate Development for EMD Chemicals North America. In June, 2009, she joined Semba Biosciences, Inc. as Chief Business Officer. In 2011, she left the bioscience world to join state government as VP, Entrepreneurship and Innovation for the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation. To BioForward she brings startup, international and government experience to an organization that is redefining its focus to integrated health solutions.
Moeller has worked at BioForward in various roles since 2009 and currently manages many of the organization’s operations. Prior to BioForward, Moeller worked with Wisconsin Department of Commerce’s Global Ventures and in UW-Madison’s Office of Risk Management.
Harrison is a physician/scientist with over 10 years of experience is the field of biomedical science. Most recently, he worked as a researcher at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He has also served as the manager of Postdoc Industry Consultants (PICO), a biotechnology consulting organization comprised of young scientists from Southeastern Wisconsin universities. He is also a founder of Angio360 Diagnostics, a Wisconsin start-up producing diagnostics for the veterinary and human cancer fields. Currently, he manages BioForward's operations in the Greater Milwaukee Area.
Kate manages the digital media strategy, member communications, website content, and event communications for BioForward. Kate additionally has experience in healthcare marketing, academic research, working in medical genetics labs in both Madison, Wisconsin and Copenhagen, Denmark. Kate recently graduated University of Wisconsin-Madison studying Biology and Life Sciences Communication. In addition to her position at BioForward, Kate teaches at a local dance studio and travels whenever she gets the chance!
