A second medical college has come forward to study the possibility of
opening a school in central Wisconsin, citing the need to produce more
doctors statewide.
The Milwaukee-based
Medical College of Wisconsin said in a news release Tuesday that it is
considering opening a community-based medical school program "in one or
more locations throughout Wisconsin," including Wausau, Stevens Point or
Marshfield in central Wisconsin. Other potential sites include the Fox
Valley, Eau Claire, northwestern Wisconsin, La Crosse, Green Bay,
Janesville-Beloit and Racine-Kenosha.
