Past Event – A Look Back at Wisconsin Biohealth Advocacy: BioForward and UW-Madison Legislative Advocacy Update

Event Summary

With a year of government ups and downs and Wisconsin’s legislative session soon coming to a close, BioForward hosted a legislative update reviewing 2017, 2018 1st quarter issues and preparing for future advocacy initiatives.

BioForward’s legislative council Jordan Lamb of DeWitt Rossand Lisa Johnson, CEO of BioForward, discussed BioForward’s ongoing state and federal legislative advocacy efforts including the WINS legislation, biosimilars, the medical device tax, and more.

Ben Miller, UW-Madison Assistant Vice Chancellor for Government & Corporate Affairs, and Crystal Potts, UW-Madison Director of State Relations, discussed last year’s budget and its impact on both the university and Wisconsin’s biohealth community.

Attendees learned how they can collaborate with both BioForward and UW-Madison, and serve as an advocate for the state’s biohealth industry and the University of Wisconsin System.
