The Wisconsin Workforce and Innovation Network for Success (WINS) Act is a breakthrough piece of economic development legislation that will create a statewide innovation fund that will be used to support the growth of Wisconsin’s industry clusters, including Wisconsin’s flourishing biohealth industry. Among the many uses for this fund will be early-stage R&D grants, SBIR matching funds, and exciting challenge grants that will call for industry clusters to develop innovative new products through competition.
BioForward and HealthtechMKE hosted a night of networking and discussion about the WINS act. The discussion portion of the event began with Lisa Johnson, CEO of BioForward, who announced BioForward will now be organizing HealthtechMKE programming, followed by a short presentation of the WINS Act. After, a panel discussion between leaders in the healthtech field was held surrounding how the WINS Act will affect their business and the industry-at-large.
