This will be my eighth year involved in BioForward’s summit and while each one has had an impressive lineup of speakers, it is the attendees and sponsors that help to make it a success. I’m preemptively calling 2017 Wisconsin Biohealth Summit our best one yet, let me tell you why:

Hear from Globally-Recognized Keynotes: Headline speakers include Charlie Alvarez, Senior Advisor to the President, Foxconn Medical Group. Hear what Foxconn envisions for the future of healthcare, technology, why they landed in Wisconsin, and how they can play a role in the future of Wisconsin’s biohealth economy. Dr. David Rhew, CMO, Samsung Healthcare will explore how digital health innovations are creating new ways to increase patient engagement and improve patient outcomes while decreasing costs. He will discuss recent results from clinical trials to demonstrate the effectiveness of these technologies.

Recognizing Leaders in Wisconsin’s Biohealth Industry: This year, BioForward be recognizing Dr. Lynn Allen-Hoffman of Stratatech (Mallinckrodt) with the Hector DeLuca Scientific Achievement Award for her regenerative medicine research on the study of human skin and translational research on skin regeneration following acute and chronic skin loss. Cynthia LaConte of the Dohmen Company will be recognized with the Wisconsin Business Award for her continued business commitment and transformation of the Dohmen Company into a successful business processing partner for more than 300 biopharma and medtech companies.

Connect with Your Industry Peers: The 2016 Wisconsin Biohealth Summit boasted 325 attendees and this year we expect even more from Wisconsin and surrounding states. Join attendees from companies that are rapidly expanding here in the state, companies you may not be familiar with, start-ups that are just getting off the ground, investors in the industry and more to address the needs and challenges that you and your business face.

Interact with Panels of Experts: With experts in government relations on healthcare, precision medicine, Wisconsin’s emerging biomanufacturing center of excellence, a panel featuring several prominent Wisconsin biohealth CEOs and opportunities for questions in every session; the biggest challenge you’ll face at the Summit is which panel to attend.

Learn How to Excel in Your Career: Bringing back our professional development panels of the past with a new spin; this year we’re focusing on our recent Women in Biohealth initiative, a program focused on professional and leadership development, and career mentoring for women in the industry. Our second panel focused on how you can attain a sense of belonging in your organization to make work rewarding, enjoyable, and purposeful. As an employer learn how local companies foster a sense of belonging to keep their team engaged.
