Bio Highlights: Jennifer Fitzsimmons serves as senior director of GMP laboratory services in the PPD clinical research business of Thermo Fisher Scientific. In this role, she oversees a team of more than 475 employees, including laboratory teams performing analytical method development and routine testing on a variety of small molecule, biologic, and inhalation products in Middleton, WI. Jennifer also provides oversight of the GMP training program and process improvement initiatives across Middleton, WI and Athlone, Ireland sites.
Before joining PPD® Laboratories in 2018, Jennifer held several leadership positions of increasing responsibility for another large global clinical research organization, leading laboratory operations in nutritional chemistry, drug metabolism, toxicology animal operations, clinical pathology, histology, and necropsy teams.
Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire. She is a certified Lean Six Sigma black belt and dedicated 6 years of her career mastering skills in coaching leaders at all levels to improve business performance through strategy deployment and lean management principles.
