About Shine: Founded in 2005 by Greg Piefer, SHINE is exploring commercial applications of nuclear fusion technology as a part of its pursuit of an innovative, deliberate pathway to clean, abundant fusion-based energy production. SHINE believes that fusion energy should become the world’s primary source of power in for humanity to continue its growth and industrial development. SHINE designs, manufactures, and operates innovative nuclear fusion technology with near-term commercial applications such as advanced industrial inspection and medical isotope production, and possible future applications in nuclear waste recycling and fusion-based energy.
Jessica’s division was formerly Phoenix Nuclear that merged with SHINE in April 2021. Greg Piefer also founded Phoenix Nuclear. Phoenix manufactures neutron generators that serve aerospace, semiconductor, medical and defense industries.
Bio Highlights: Jessica Giffey currently serves as General Manager of SHINE’s Systems and Manufacturing Division responsible for the development and performance of the companies’ neutron generator and capital equipment business. She also oversees the Imaging Center. Jessica previously served as the Vice President of Operations responsible for Production, Service, Purchasing, Planning, and Facilities. Prior to joining SHINE in 2017, Jessica spent ten years working in engineering, consulting, and project management where she led engaged, effective teams and created improvements to prioritize limited resources and reduce lost time. Jessica holds a B.S. in Physics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
