Venture Investors, a Madison venture capital organization known for supporting young technology and health-related companies in the Madison area, is raising a new fund.

According to documents filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Venture Investors plans to raise $100 million for what it calls Venture Investors Health Fund 6 Limited Partners.

A manager of the firm declined to provide any information to a reporter, citing SEC regulations.

Venture Investors already has $200 million under management, according to the firm’s website.

Companies in which the firm has invested in the past include Fitchburg biotech powerhouse Promega Corp., Madison alternative fuels company Virent, and FluGen, a Madison startup developing an influenza vaccine.
