Creating Clear Containers for Better Communication & Impact: A Recap of WiB's May 7 Event with Sarah Young

On May 7, Women in Biohealth hosted an engaging and deeply practical event, Creating Clear Containers, featuring Sarah Young—leadership coach, founder of Zing Collaborative, and author of Expansive Impact. Held at Findorff in Madison, the evening welcomed attendees from across the biohealth community for an interactive session focused on transforming the way we communicate and collaborate.

A Framework for Clarity

Sarah led participants through a thoughtful, two-part framework designed to foster greater clarity—starting from within. The first half of the workshop focused on internal clarity: identifying and setting aside assumptions that often hinder communication. Attendees were encouraged to reflect on their own thought patterns and the invisible narratives that shape their work and relationships.

From there, the session moved into external clarity—or what Sarah calls “creating clear containers.” This concept centers on intentionally designing the structure, expectations, and communication norms of meetings, projects, and collaborations. Whether navigating tricky team dynamics or course-correcting a veering initiative, these tools offered participants a roadmap for shifting outcomes and building more aligned, effective working relationships.

Interactive, Practical, and Powerful

The event was highly interactive, with opportunities for personal reflection, small group conversations, and a lively Q&A. Attendees brought real-life scenarios—from challenging conversations to high-stakes meetings—and walked away with practical strategies they could implement immediately.

Sarah’s insights, paired with the collective wisdom of the Women in Biohealth community, created a space that was both empowering and actionable. As one attendee put it, “Sarah provided excellent tools and wisdom, and the discussions made the experience even more valuable.”
