Scholarship and Grant Opportunities for Wisconsin Companies Attending BIO 2010

The following funding opportunities are available to companies planning to attend the BIO International Convention in Chicago, May 3-6, 2010. See specific program descriptions for specific eligibility requirements and deadlines. As we become aware of additional opportunities we will post them to this site.

Trade Show Grant Program

To encourage Wisconsin companies to get first-hand experience with international markets and to develop relationships with international partners, the Wisconsin Department of Commerce offers a Trade Show Grant of up to $5,000. Under the program, companies can be reimbursed for BIO 2010 International Convention expenses, including expenses associated with exhibiting in the Wisconsin Pavilion, and registration for One-on-One Partnering and Company Presentations through the Business Forum.

BIO Volunteer Program

The 2010 BIO International Convention will bring approximately 20,000 attendees to McCormick Place, in Chicago, IL, May 3-6. BIO needs your help! Along with BIO staff, volunteers are essential to the success of the convention. For each day you volunteer during the 2010 convention, you will receive a complimentary day to attend the conference. We ask that all participants volunteer for two days. For each two days volunteered, you will receive two complimentary days to attend the conference (the complimentary passes are non-transferable).

Small Business Scholarship Program for BIO 2010

Scholarship Application Deadline CLOSED on Feb. 19, 2010

This program provides scholarships of $750 to $2,000 to Wisconsin biotechnology companies (health, agriculture, energy, medical device, etc.) with fewer than 100 employees, to participate in the One-on-One Partnering and/or the Company Presentations through the Business Forum at BIO 2010. These reimbursement scholarships are funded by BioForward, UW Madison Center for International Business Education and Research, City of Madison, Alliant Energy, and Thrive.
